Austin is a community in western Manitoba on the Trans-Canada Highway about west of Winnipeg. It is part of the Rural Municipality of North Norfolk. It sits at the western edge of the table-flat Portage Plains, but to the south and west is surrounded by miles of low wooded hills known as the Carberry sandhills. The biggest attraction is the annual Rodeo and Threshermen's Reunion held at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum the last four business days of July. Austin received its name in 1881 from the Marquis of Lorne, then Governor General of Canada while he was on a western tour during construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Many German immigrants of Mennonite religion moved into the Austin Manitoba area. Austin has 1 elementary school, 1 postal office, 1 curling/hockey rink, 2 grocery stores and a Credit Union. The Reeve of Austin is Neil Christoferson. ==Gallery== Image:Austin in Summer 2009 Manitoba Canada.JPG Image:Austin in Summer 2009 Manitoba Canada (3).JPG Image:Austin in Summer 2009 Manitoba Canada (2).JPG Image:Austin in Summer 2009 Manitoba Canada (4).JPG Image:Thresherman's Reunion Agricultural Machinary Show Austin Manitoba Canada (8).JPG|Manitoba Agriculture Museum Image:Thresherman's Reunion Agricultur Machinary Show Manitoba Agricultural Museum Austin Manitoba Canada (21).JPG|Manitoba Agriculture Museum Image:Thresherman's Reunion Agricultur Machinary Show Manitoba Agricultural Museum Austin Manitoba Canada (38).JPG|Manitoba Agriculture Museum Image:Thresherman's Reunion Agricultur Machinary Show Manitoba Agricultural Museum Austin Manitoba Canada (25).JPG|Thresherman's Reunion at Manitoba Agriculture Museum 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Austin, Manitoba」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
